The IÖW is a leading research institute on ecological economy research. We develop strategies and courses of action for sustainability - for an economy that secures a good living and protects its natural resources.
The ASCEE project is a Commission funded research initiative that deals with innovative policy instruments and approaches for the promotion of sustainable consumption. The Expert Workshop will therefore offer an important platform to exchange and collect further insights, opinions and experiences from a targeted audience of 40 international experts (from public administrations, academia, NGOs, business). It will contribute to the development of a "policy toolbox" for policy makers supporting the international SCP-process.
> more informationIn 1994, the Institute for Ecological Economy Research (IÖW) and the business network ‘future’ carried out the world’s first ranking of corporate environmental reports. It evaluates the content and communicative quality of the sustainability and environmental reports of Germany’s 150 largest corporations. The criteria, which served as the basis for the evaluation, have been continuously developed as the project has been repeated (which occurred in the years 1996, 1998, 2000 and 2005). In 2007, IÖW and ‘future’ carried out the sixth Ranking of the environmental, CSR, and sustainability reports of Germany’s largest corporations.
