Description
Political targets aiming at mitigating climate change and increasing energy productivity will only be reached if companies significantly increase their energy efficiency. This can be based on efficient production processes or by bringing energy-efficient products and services to the market. The project analyses the current state, trends and potentials for increased energy efficiency in companies and corresponding effects on employment. The project will study influencing factors such as political targets and support programs and the role of codetermination. It focuses on three industrial sectors, namely chemistry, machine building and logistics. The analysis is based on qualitative case studies. Results and recommendations will be targeted to companies, industry associations and actors of codetermination.
