Description

The overriding aim of the transdisciplinary project was to make a practical analytical contribution towards clarifying the basic requirements, protagonist and network structures, conditions for success and sustainability potential of system innovations.

At an application-oriented level, the pilot project “the sustainable office” developed in cooperation with practical partners was to make an exemplary contribution to sustainable management. It represented a field of experimentation in which a systemic alternative to the development and provision of individual office areas (furniture, office equipment, lighting etc.), which are traditionally operated largely independent of one another, was devised. In order to generalise the experience made during the practical pilot project work with regard to the development and shaping of systems innovations, case studies of concluded and current systems innovations were conducted at an analytical level which provided insights into the supporting and inhibiting factors of systems innovation processes. These insights can be found in the publications on the project.
