Abstract
In the research project “First steps to sustainability reporting”, the basic principles, content and form of sustainability reporting were elaborated. The practical compilation of sustainability reports in the three companies Gundlach, Weleda and Wilkhan was scientifically accompanied. The experience from this process has been incorporated into the guide together with the latest knowledge about sustainability and sustainability reporting. The aim of the guide is to offer other companies practical assistance in preparing their own sustainability report. Based on the target groups and company environment, the authors present the various components of a sustainability report.
