Projektbeschreibung
The project investigated the approaches to and the conditions for environmentally beneficial structural change in developed countries and identified promising starting-points for an ecological industrial policy in basic industries.
The analysis concentrated on the most important ecologically intensive industries: the production of basic metals, petroleum products, paper etc. The main task of the IÖW in this field was to evaluate at several theoretical approaches which have the potential to give some explanation of the empirical findings. The project results were gathered in a book publication in the Springer Verlag.
