European policy patterns are changing: There is a "transformation of European governance" as crucial issue shifting power relations within state and society. Generally spoken, the transformation process towards new models of governance aims at stronger involvement of stakeholder and shared responsibility. What's in it for the environment? From a transdisciplinary and social ecological perspective this leads to the exciting relation of Governance and Sustainability. Taking one example, Integrated Product Policy (IPP) aims to improve the environmental performance of products and services along life-cycle and combines integration, communication and co-operation as leading principles. Is IPP one outcome indicating changes towards environmental governance patterns? The Summer Academy intends to be a forum for intensive international exchange of experiences on IPP.
This summer academy is part of the IOeW-Project "Governance and Sustanability", which is integrated in the new programm "Social-ecological Research" (SÖF) of the German Federal Ministry of Education und Research.Summer Academy Venue:
