The workshop will present both scientific insight and practical experiences from the path of sustainable administration in Germany. Sustainable development challenges the political authorities. Above all, political administrations play a crucial role in promoting sustainable strategies. The Local Agenda 21, for instance requires local administrations to elaborate and implement sustainability on a local level. The task raises a wide range of questions: How to reach permanent organisational learning among administrations? Which effective and efficient toolkit should be applied? How to deal with cross-cutting policy goals?
