Local Added Value and Employment through Renewable Energy
Renewable energy value creation and employment can have enormous effects on established economic sectors, and can significantly exceed value creation and employment of the conventional energy system. Added value at the municipal level can be advanced taking various actions. These include active regional planning, promotion of renewable energy plants, leasing public land and establishment of renewable energy companies. Economic participation should be recognized as a key factor in promoting acceptance and cooperatives should be encouraged.
