Opportunities to reform the EEG apportionment
Burdening solely the electricity prices with the charges and apportionment is an essential barrier for the extension of the energy transition to the heat and transport sector. Already in October 2016, the bne and the IÖW have cooperatively presented the idea of an extension of the basis of the EEG apportionment. An updated assessment of the IÖW now proposes a stepwise redistribution of the EEG apportionment to the final energy consumption for heat and transport. On a parliamentary evening, Prof. Hirschl (IÖW) presented the assessment and discussed new financing mechanisms with the parliamentarians of all parties and Prof. Klaus Töpfer.
