Bernd Hirschl presented findings of a short study by the IÖW for the Association of Energy Market Innovators (bne). It aimed at reducing the EEG reallocation charge by broadening the base for reallocation. To do so, final energy consumption in the heating and traffic sectors were included. This broadened base proved to be a good lever to significantly reduce the costs of the EEG reallocation charge in the electricity sector. The study also found that an even distribution of costs between consumer groups is possible.
