Participation as key for developing flexibility. Results of the Designetz project from the user perspective
The Designetz project shows that flexibilization of the energy system, i.e. flexible adjustment of electricity consumption to supply, is technically possible. In order to exploit the technical potential, it is important to understand the perspective of the users: What factors influence the acceptance of technological innovations and to what extent does participation play a role? The presentation addresses the fact that in order to make electricity grids more flexible, mere endorsement is not enough, but active support is needed. Financial participation, transparent provision of information and trust promote the willingness of companies, households or agricultural enterprises to become active for the flexibilization.
