Podcast: Climate neutrality scenarios
Prof. Hirschl talks with Gregor Honsel from Technology Review in the Tech2go podcast about the current study that shows how Berlin can become climate neutral. In this context, intermediate targets for key sectors such as transport, the building sector, etc. play a major role in setting policy guard rails for change. In this context, Prof. Hirschl explains how science can realistically calculate such scenarios and develop the measures in a more solution-oriented way. Optimistic or utopian assumptions regarding, for example, the expansion of wind energy, the shift towards e-mobility or energy refurbishments can distort the scenarios and the measures derived from them.
