Prosumer-Households – Unwanted or Indispensable?
There are many strong motivations for private energy production – citizens want to remain the motor of the (decentralized) Energiewende. Furthermore, private prosuming can be beneficial for the energy system, is increasingly profitable and also displays positive effects for regional and national economies. Urban prosuming, particularly using solar energy, can be promoted without any constraints as urban grids can still absorb large amounts of solar power. The current framework does not even come close to exhausting this potential.
