The Challenge of the Heat Shift – an Introduction
On March 7th 2017, Prof. Hirschl (IÖW) opened a two-days workshop for local municipal utilities, organized by the Association of Municipal Companies (VKU), with expert input on the topic heat shift. His speech addressed the starting position, the importance and the challenges of the urban heat shift and he presented ongoing projects concerning the heat shift and the urban energy transition, specifically in the Land of Berlin. Within the scope of the project “Urban Heat Shift – Participatory Transformation of Coupled Infrastructures, Focusing on Heat Supply in Berlin” the IÖW deals intensively with these subject matters.
