Comparative Analysis of Fully Integrated vs. Interchangeable Battery Systems – Ecological Impacts and User Acceptance
As part of the project “Efficiency and cycle potentials of battery systems in e-mobility”, funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, conventional batteries integrated into the vehicle design of electric cars were compared with a battery swapping system. At the workshop on ecological aspects of Task 50 “Electric Vehicles” of the International Energy Agency (IEA), Jan Wiesenthal presented the ecological impacts of both battery systems as well as the main findings of the user survey “Acceptance of Battery Swapping Systems in Germany”.
