Relief Effects for the Environment through Nanotechnological Processes and Products

The project “Relief Effects for the Environment through Nanotechnological Processes and Products”, conducted in cooperation with Bremen University, is aimed at the prospective identification and evaluation of the potential for relieving the environment through nanotechnological processes and products. The knowledge gained can then be employed in a targeted way to realise this potential in the further course of innovation processes. Building on a comprehensive survey and preliminary evaluation of products already on the market or about to be marketed, the project concentrates on in-depth studies of life-cycle aspects, examining two specific processes or products compared with existing processes or materials (establishing eco-profiles). As far as possible, the expectable potential for relieving (and of course burdening) the environment will be ascertained and presented. Any possible technical risks and employment potential will also be estimated.
