Value Added by Renewable Energies in the German Federal State of Baden-Württemberg

The Baden-Württemberg Ministry of the Environment, Climate Protection and the Energy Sector commissioned the IÖW to calculate the value added and employment effects of renewable energies in the federal state of Baden-Württemberg. The study should be used by local decision-makers as a talking point to boost the acceptability of renewable energies.

The basis for the calculation of value added and employment effects is a developed model by the IÖW for 16 different local renewable energy technologies. This model will be adjusted to the special conditions of Baden-Württemberg. For the given technologies the study will finally provide indicators and economic parameters for the electricity and heat production.
