Treasuring urban green Cities can profit from the extension of green areas ecologically, economically, and socially
Urban green spaces provide a variety of services for the urban population: they not only offer recreational opportunities and beautify the cityscape, they also cool the urban climate on hot days and contribute to the well-being of the city's inhabitants. The project “Stadtgrün wertschätzen (Treasuring Urban Green)” has quantified and economically evaluated the benefits of city greenery, so that they are given more consideration in urban policy decisions.
