Strengthening Regional Economic Growth Through Renewable Energies

This report examines the potential for regional value creation and employment generated by renewable energy and highlights how municipalities and their residents can benefit from it. It first analyzes the value creation and employment effects associated with the planning, construction, and operation of wind and solar power plants in 2023, as well as their potential development through 2033. This is supplemented by an examination of macroeconomic regional effects. In addition to the value creation and employment directly linked to renewable energy facilities, this includes, in particular, further regional economic impacts, such as the establishment of businesses, and indirect effects resulting from increased municipal tax revenues due to the expansion of renewable energy.
