Value added and employment creation of renewable energies in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania 2010 and 2030 Short study on behalf of the SPD state parliamentary group Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Schwerin

The Institute for Ecological Economy Research (IÖW) developed a concept for "Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania as the leading region for economic development through the expansion of renewable energies" in cooperation with the Center for Technology and Society (CTS), TU Berlin, and Rostock Energie-Umwelt-Beratung e.V./Institut (EUB) on behalf of the SPD state parliamentary group Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. In a scientific study, the IÖW identified the value added and employment effects of renewable energies (16 renewable energy technologies) in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania for the year 2010 and the scenarios developed in 2030 with different expansion objectives in the areas of electricity and heat. The energy concept and the results of the study were presented by the SPD prime minister, the parliamentary leader as well as the authors of the study at an energy conference on March 3, 2011.
