How can processes of change and learning succeed? For Esther Hoffmann, one recipe to success is the involvement of different stakeholders in order to incorporate diverse perspectives. In her research, the economist therefore focuses primarily on dialog formats and qualitative research methods such as interviews.

At the IÖW, Esther Hoffmann coordinates the areas of “Participation and Communication” as well as “Evaluation and Assessment”. In around 50 projects, she has conducted research on climate adaptation and sustainable corporate management. She advises federal ministries and authorities on adapting to the consequences of climate change.
