Making Sense of Climate Risks - Barriers to Organizational Adaptation
Climate change adds a new dimension to the dynamics and risks in corporate environments. A precondition for dealing with climate change is that companies recognize and make sense of climate change related risks. The aim of the lecture is to contribute to organizational risk and climate adaptation research by analysing and presenting how interpretation and sensemaking processes of climate change impacts as an organizational risk unfold within organizations. Therefore relevant results of two qualtiative in depth case studies of a large German railway and energy company are given.
