Dr. Alexandra Dehnhardt

Head of Research Field „Ecological Economics and Environmental Policy“

M. Sc. Agricultural Sciences

Alexandra Dehnhardt is convinced that far-reaching institutional change is required in order to give the value of nature and landscape more importance in policy-making processes. This is why the head of research field is working on institutions and valuation approaches in the areas of biodiversity and water policy as well as climate change adaptation.

With a doctorate in environmental economics, she researches the value of ecosystems for society and the institutional framework conditions under which they can be integrated into decisions in politics, administration and society. She uses environmental economic methods and qualitative methods of social research.
