The presentation starts by providing a definition of the term "prosumers". It then presents motives for households to become prosumers and the technological options available to e-prosumers (PV, batteries, thermal heat pumps, etc.). It analyzes how different combinations of these technologies influence the level of autarchy reached, consumption and infeed, and particularly emphasizes effects on peak load and power peak. Next, profitability of different PV storage systems and economic effects on the regional and national level are discussed. Finally, current conditions and barriers are discussed and the presentation provides recommendations for future policy-making.
