Enabling Developing Countries to seize eco-label opportunities

In 2007, UNEP started a project started which promotes eco-labelling in Brazil, China, India, Kenya and the South East African Region, Mexico and South Africa. The project is funded by the European Commission and the German government.and intends to increase the number of eco-labelled products. IOeW has been responsible to compile and elaborate the background paper which was used for a workshop d of 2007. Afterwards IÖW has prepared roadmap for textiles, televisions, footwear and paper products to support applicants from the six target countries to use European eco-labels.
