Both climate models as well as economic models and methodology recognize that it is necessary to have sufficient information available on local and regional levels in order to achieve a target oriented consultancy of decision makers. This is based on the fact that regions are affected differently by climate change and also differ significantly in their characteristics. This especially applies to the economic structures that cause different regional effects. Additionally, the impact of climate change varies between industrial sectors.
From these considerations, the need and goal of this project was determined: There was a lack of theoretical and conceptual considerations combining regional climate models and regional and sectorial economic models. Therefore, the focus of this project was to appropriately combine these model classes. In particular, a research-based collaboration with a trans-disciplinary approach was promoted.
