The working paper portrays the transformation process in the Oder catchment area which has taken place in the last years. Simultaneously, it plumbs possible future developments for the coastal area. For this purpose, the past development has been traced on one side. On the other side, central influencing factors for economical, social and ecological development have been updated based on extrapolating the trend line, model based studies and qualitatively formulated development trajectories.
