In the introduction to the focus of this issue, the authors ask: How can we achieve a turn towards a transformative economics that pursues an economy within planetary boundaries? To achieve this, it is not enough to reconfigure economic research questions: As an “enabling science”, economics should offer recommendations for action and orientation in order to enable actors to take transformative action.
