Value added and employment creation of wind energy in Baden-Wuerttemberg in 2010 and 2020 Study of the Institute for Ecological Economy Research (IÖW) on behalf of Greenpeace e.V., Hamburg

Baden-Wuerttemberg has been continuously at the bottom of the ranking of the federal states regarding installed wind capacity and the expansion of wind energy plants in recent years. However, there are suitable wind energy locations, as the new wind atlas of the TÜV SÜD for Baden-Wuerttemberg shows. At the same time, the industry benefits from the national and worldwide wind energy boom as a classical and successful international supplying industry.

In a scientific study on behalf of Greenpeace, the Institute for Ecological Economy Research (IÖW) identified the value added and employment effects of an increased use of wind energy for today (2010) and for the year 2020. The study shows that the economy and society in Baden-Württemberg can benefit substantially from an accelerated construction of wind energy plants.
