Michelle Biallowons

Researcher

M. Sc. Global Change Ecology

How can climate protection and climate adaptation be made socially just? Michelle Biallowons is investigating this key question in her research at the IÖW. The ecologist attaches great importance to an interdisciplinary perspective: she combines the analysis of spatial data with social science issues to examine topics such as social justice and climate justice in a local and global context.

Her work currently focuses on the energy transition: Among other things, Michelle Biallowons is evaluating the extent to which self-supply models are technically feasible and economically viable for citizens.
