Frieder Rubik presented the results of the Innoredux project at the final conference of the BMBF research focus "Plastics in the Environment". Unlike the other projects, Innoredux still has another year to run, so only preliminary results were presented. The core of the project is a three-month packaging laboratory in the city of Heidelberg from May to July 2021, in which innovative packaging solutions will be tested. The packaging variations were selected based on overview life cycle assessments and the analysis of internal and external success factors for business model innovations. In addition, possibilities for sustainability-oriented packaging optimization and municipal governance options were identified and systematized.
