M. Sc. “Joint International Master Sustainable Development”
The digitalization of our society is often portrayed as a driver of sustainability. This is not wrong, but only half the truth, says Frieder Schmelzle. With expertise in engineering and social sciences, he conducts research on the interfaces between technical and socio-ecological transformation processes.
He focuses on the question of which interactions occur between technology and society and how they can be shaped in terms of an integrated understanding of sustainability. For him, this particularly includes socio-economic factors and political framework conditions.
