Analysis of Economic, Technical and Environmental Benefits of Energy Storage Systems in Grid-connected Photovoltaic Systems

This project analysed the potential economic, technical and environmental benefits of energy storage systems in grid-connected photovoltaic systems in domestic households by investigating the following questions:

  • In which way should these storage systems be operated in order to improve PV integration?
  • Which frameworks (e.g. legislation, technical regulations, data protection, market design or funding models) can assure such an operating mode or motivate it?
  • Do potential operators accept such operating modes and frameworks?

The aim was to identify the operating modes of PV storage systems, which have a positive effect on the entire power supply system in order to derive clear recommendations for the technical realization and possible frameworks.
