The research project aims at supporting communal activities for identifying, selecting and realising measures for greening public spaces that at the same time enhance climate resilience of cities and contribute to the conservation of biodiversity. Therefore core ecosystem services of green urban space were analysed and valued economically in order to make its benefit more visible. One of the core products was an calculation tool that enables communities to validate the manifold effects of urban green and thereby generating arguments for its conservation and extension. Together with the four communal partners a communication and participation strategy will be developed and tested in order to activate further players for public green conservation.
In the second project phase, an online tool was developed that is accessible for municipal decision makers, stakeholders and the broader public interested in the services and value of urban green infrastructure.
