For the energy transition it becomes more and more important to store power decentralized. This way, local produced renewable energy can be consumed flexible while relieving the power grid. An important component are battery storages which are used by several households commonly.
The project Esquire examines how power storage in districts or neighborhoods can be introduced, that fulfill two conditions: the users have to accept it and they have to stabilize the power system. For operating this storages services such as system stability, data security, storage of own energy or monitoring are needed. These are developed together with users and municipal stakeholders in the social, technical and economic framework. For the viable services business models are elaborated and implemented, tested and evaluated in concrete districts.
