M. A. Political Economy
How can companies make an effective contribution to the socially just, ecological transformation of the economy? Economist Gesa Marken addresses this question at multiple levels. Whether biodiversity, climate action, the circular economy or digitalization, her research aims to identify ways of meeting ecological requirements – both within companies and at a societal level.
Qualitative social research methods such as expert interviews are her area of expertise. These are applied, for example, in projects such as GiBBS or SustAIn. She further strives to enrich her projects with a post-growth and political economy perspective.
