Tarin Karzai

Researcher

MPA Economic Policy

What is biodiversity worth to people, and what are the benefits of a street tree for the urban population? These are the research questions that Tarin Karzai, who conducts research at the IÖW on the environmental economic valuation of ecosystem services and biodiversity, is dealing with.

In projects such as The Future of the Tidal Elbe in a Changing Climate, the economist uses the ecosystem service approach and various environmental economic valuation methods – such as choice experiments.
