Dr. Swantje Gährs

Researcher

Mathematician

The future energy system is decentralized – but how can the various actors and technologies be integrated? Swantje Gährs is working on this issue in numerous projects at the IÖW. As head of the SteuerBoard Energie junior research group, she is investigating how renewable energies can be better organized with the help of digitalisation.

Swantje Gährs wants to understand how prosumers and energy communities are changing the energy system socially, technologically and economically. In order to analyze these dynamics, the mathematician co-developed the IÖW's energy prosumer model.
